Hello people,
I have my first meeting with the Princes Trust on monday i am just looking for advise on what to take with me ect.
The person i spoke to on the phone said to just take my idea ect. and nothing else.
Is this correct or would i need to take any info like suppliers contacts ect.
It would be really helpful if someone who has recently set up with the Princess Trust could give me some advice as i don't want to go underprepared.
Thanks for your help

Hi Marc,
For the initial meeting just the idea would be enough. If you've started on a business plan or have written anything else then take that too.
And pen + paper to take notes.
Whatr region are you in?
Edited for spelling!

Hi Marc
There's definitely one member with a lot of Prince's Trust experience on here, but as it's the weekend he may not be around immediately - but I'm sure he'll be able to help.
Best of luck with it.
What is your business idea (or have you posted in Intros and I've missed it?)

Yep take your idea and if you do have a plan or any other info then take that too. My business was started with the help of princes trust and a few other organisations working together.
New entrepeneur scholorship through canterbury business school.
They are good people and you will get alot from them.
Good luck

I am currently setting up as a wholesaler for Sony, Nokia, and Apple and i will have an online retail store too.
Basically i have all the suppliers but to set up accounts with them i need to be a ltd. company so i am hoping the Princes Trust can help me set up as a ltd. company to gain the accounts

How's the shooting business site going? I think you should take info about it with you as it shows you've experience in the business.
Did you do the site yourself?

Have a think before you go there about how much money you need (think between 1.5 to 5k max) and what you intend to spend it on.
Do you have any 'special' circumstances. For instance if you're from a 'deprived' background, been in care or prison or of an ethnic minority this will give you more chance of getting money as a grant (Which you don't have to pay back) rather than a low-interest loan.
They will help you through every aspect of what you need to do at every stage. You're in good hands.
If you're seeing someone from the London region then let me know who and I should be able to give you the low-down on them too (via PM ofcourse : )

The shooting business is doing ok but i have'nt had any time to promote it as i have been in college ect. But i know there is alot more money to made in electrical retail and wholesale so the shooting business will be put to one side as i put all my efforts into this buiness.
I am in the Hereford region and i got a web deigner to help me make the website he did all the hard work.

I am a Prince's Trust Business Mentor and was formerly a PT supported business.
If the meeting is just to enquire about PT business programme then just go along with your idea. They will then advise how to proceed if you wish to make an application.
The criteria is not only if you are from a deprived background, ex-offender, ethnic minority, disability,(etc) but if you can show that you have applied for funding elsewhere and was turned down. If they think the idea is viable they will support you. Each application is assessed individually.
If the meeting is upon the invitation to discuss your application then the meeting will be slightly more formal and they will put questions to you about your business idea, and anything related to your business plan.
Feel free to contact me at jonathan@handsongroup.co.uk if you need further advice/guidance.
