Hello,

I'd like to introduce myself to this forum as I expect to be zipping in and out of here quite a lot.

I run a Public Relations and copywriting service, Pebble Communications, and I established my business in January 2005. Prior to that, I had 4 years experience in PR, 6 years experience in more general marketing activity and 3 years experience in magazine editorial.

My website is www.pebblecommunications.co.uk and I like to offer companies of all sizes the same level of service. I take a very down-to-earth attitude towards PR (it must have an ultimate aim, such as driving traffic to your website or getting visitors to your event) and, as well as tailored services, I have two Fixed Price services which are ideal for small companies or start-ups. I also really love corporate copywriting (I'm a bit strange like that) and do a lot of marketing brochures, annual reports, newsletters and so on.

I'm based in Kent/Essex but I work for companies all through the south-east up to the Midlands if I need to see them in person, but for much of what I do location is irrelevant. Last year I worked for several companies based outside the UK.

Out of work, I am mother to a teenager (all sympathy welcomed) and partner to a nice not-at-all-boring chap who runs his own accountancy practice. I read till my eyes fall out and spend a lot of time with friends. Other than that, I tend to have an odd fit once a year, or so and usually do one of those charitable challenge things. Last year I did a solo parachute jump and loved it so much I'd take it up as a hobby if I could find time for all the training. I've also bungee jumped, abseiled down a car-park and done a 300' long 100' high zipwire slide...can you see a theme developing? My friends say I've got to tackle Everest next to get even higher!

Sorry, but you sound MAD!

I'd jump out of a plane only if I'd been born with wings!!

Welcome

No it was FANTASTIC!

We had to do a whole day training course and a written test so it's not like you are just chucked out of the door. Out of 12 of us on the course, 11 of us went on to jump and one person pulled out as they decided it was not for them. We all loved it and wanted to go straight back up for another go!

I'm Tasha, I have four kids aged 6,4,2 and 7mths and I'm DREADING reaching the teenage years my 6 year old is stroppy enough as it is! Funnily enough although I now live in Hampshire I used to live very VERY close to you (had the same phone code in fact!) just down the road in Erith, although lived in Abbey Wood and Belvedere too. I don't miss it, I love living here.

Good luck with your business :)

Hello and Welcome.

I live in Chislehurst, so not too far away from you!

You sound like a very brave and fun lady. I like the idea of doing all those wacky things, but when came too it, I would probably be in a right flap!

Hope to see you around.
