View Full Version : My 3rd new business..lol
Jayne

Hi,
I have started another new biz selling my paintings, i've already been selling them, so I decided to do a website to get some more commissions. I have done the site myself, so there could be one or two cock ups, so i'll say sorry now, just in case
I did it with a vshosting site builder, it comes with his hosting package and Tony says it's not rubbish like MS Publisher, which is how I tried to do my last site. I think I have driven Tony up the wall :D
I have tried to fix my site, but i'm waiting for Dave to get back from the pub to check it..so please ignore the code bits for now.
If you see any more mistakes please feel free to comment and i'll try and put them right, if not, i'll have to annoy Tony some more
Thank You
Jayne http://art.bowbiz.co.uk/

I'm actually very impressed with your pieces.
You've revealed a talent that has been kept well under wraps.
Wish you well in selling them :D

Hi
I saw your site and like your work. It's good to see some arts. And good luck with your 3rd business!
I've just set up a venture called www.freshties.com. The reason for writing is to say why not promote your business on one of our blogs- it is free to join now, and it will be like an advert for you, which you can update at any time. Also, I need to let people know about what freshties does.
My gain is hopefully you may at some point, add some info about being in your profession, as this is of great help to our members, as some information about what it's like in particular jobs/industry sectors.
If you click on http://www.freshties.com/index.php?testimonial=home
you'll see how others are using blogs to help themselves and others.
I'll let others know about your site. Have a good weekend, Ash

Hi Jayne,
Another talented artist on ukbf!
Horses and pet portraits are always very popular so I'm sure you will gain lots of commissions.
My partner is currently working on a new collection of landscapes - maybe there should be a forum just for `creatives' on ukbf?? I'm sure there'd be plenty of interest!
Hope this new venture goes well for you.

Hi Jayne
Wow....really good work !! I am very impressed.
When do you find the time to do it ???
I am hoping to get my website up and running in the spring as I am secret painter myself  and I have been asked to do a commission for a new office building here so I will run some of it by you to test the water.
Keep up the good work Jayne.

Buildings stay still too don't they? lol! Much easier to paint something that doesn't move as opposed to a horse that'll run off with its mates when you come near it!

Jacqui, I paint at my computer in between emails and things. I prop my art board on the keyboard part
So, you type a bit, work a bit and paint a bit...best of everything
What sort of work do you do?

Wow, Jayne. Well done for finally showing off your talent. I love your lilly painting it's so vibrant.
It's nice that we are both so different in our styles. So much so that I think a reciprical link may be in order, what do you think?
Your sites lovely too, simply and effective (What I've been told to do, but ignored LOL).
Good luck with it all.

Thanks Claire,
I can do abstract and contemporary too, but it's not my cup of tea, I love detail too much
I haven't got a link swap thing sorted, but i've put William a posh link on, so you have to click on one of his Photo's, I was quite chuffed with that.
I could do it with one of your pics too if you wanted, then you put me a link back :D

Hi Claire,
I've put you a link on, the banner wouldn't work on my site for some reason? So i've picked a painting and squashed it a little, so they can click on your painting to get to your site. Like I did with Williams.

Hi Tom,
It's a template site. You have one hole to put the picture in and one hole to put the web address in, that's as far as my techy knowledge will manage
The link i've done looks nice and works fine, plus it matches my other links.
Jayne :D

8th January 2006, 18:56
Ah, I see. It was purely because a link is there to help with your search engine ranking, and the text of that link accounts for the majority of what Google/MSN/Yahoo reads. If it's an image, it doesn't have any text and the inbound link doesn't offer the search engines any info on what it's about. Just in case anyone was wondering why I mentioned changing it.
Jayne
8th January 2006, 18:58

I've put writing on it too, so google should pick up that. Well that's what I thought.

I have been painting for years, but only just started telling people, I didn't have much time because of the bakery. Now I can paint as much as I want when the sale has finished.
