Hello,
We're a small IT company that does On-site hardware/software support; mainly for small businesses, professionals (doctors, engineers, painters, etc.) and Homes.
We wish to use the sms (send sms to target audience), let's say 1000 sms to 1000 doctors;
I am trying to find the right sms content (message);
Could you please advise?
p.s. We are in the Middle East (not in Europe/US) but the message will be in English (and french)
Thank you

Personally, I get VERY upset if someone sends me an unsolicited SMS message. It costs me to receive them and I don't appreciate paying for a sales message I don't want. You might want to consider that before you commit to this campaign.

We are digital marketing agency and we have many clients who successful users sms and mobile marketing to achieve their objectives.
However there are few thing you need to understand,
As Snippa said its illegal to send unsolicited messages mobile phones. You will need to make sure the database is properly opted in. The law says the numbers has to be opted in within 6 month. Then you need to think about,
How does your service offer appeals to this audience? Will a doctor likely to make a decision based on a text message??
Then the cost? as you might already know it will cost at least 3p to send a msg on a direct route.
One reason mobile marketing is very popular is because its instant.
Now to answer your question, you got 160 characters to play with. Make it as simple as possible and always give them a mode of call 2 action.
Hope this helps..

We have found the response to SMS campaigns to be unbelievably low..and this was on the back of the customer requesting to download a JAVA applet to their handset, so the follow up SMS, to a warm audience, should have yielded better results.
However 1000 SMS's is not going to cost a lot, so as long as the recipients have opted in, go for it. As to the content, as previous poster has said, snappy message, with very clear call to action... 160 characters is not a lot...
