Morning and Hi,

I am new to the forum and after a little bit of advice. I am considering setting on my own doing to start with sole trader accounts.

I am just wondering what a reasonable price is to charge and also would like to hear from anyone who has done something similar so I can get a few pointers.

I am a chartered accountant so have the background but it is always better to talk to someone who has done this / doing this,

Bascially I like the idea of being my own boss.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a practicing certificate?

Are you registered for MLR?

Do you have PII?

Hi and welcome

As Dave mentions above you have a few things to consider first.

The price you charge will depend on many factors and you will see huge variations in what other accountants charge.

If I were you I'd first of all really consider exactly what service I was going to provide - you mention preparing sole traders accounts, are you also going to deal with tax advice, tax returns, business advice etc etc, and then price this in just the same way as you would if a client asked you for advice on how to calculate a price.

Hi,

I am considering doing the tax returns and preparing basic accounts. I am thinking of looking at targeting the local builders etc in my area.

Thanks
