http://www.freecybermag.com/

You'll need to register to get the password to open the issue, but well worth it, quite a few of us UKBFers are mentioned.

Is a free magazine not meant to be easy and free to read.

I know a few people including myself would go and read it, but probably will not bother if I have to register.

Don't you think more people would read it it was easier to view?

more people = more readers = more advertising revenue... :-)

You can get people details from interactive features like competition

You have to register if you want your mag delivered to your email box once a month :D

lol..Chris is like a cyber paper boy

Claire - When your hubby sent me the story I thought I was really really good. He can write for me again if he likes (hint hint)

Jayne - The good thing about being a cyber paper boy is that I don't have to get up at 6am each day to deliver the bloody thing

Mark - The reason I ask people to register is so that I know each month they will get a copy of my mag. When I first started people were looking at the mag but lets be honest how many would remember to come back each month. Very few and I have no money to advertise each month and couldn't rely on people remembering to come back so I ask them to register. I don't use their info to sell to marketing companies as I know how annoying that can be and I also don't send them any advertising from me either. All that happens is once a month they get notification from me that the new issue is ready. Each month I get more and more people joining so I know at least the number of readers are growing.

Did anyone else like Claire's hubby's story too??

Cheers

Chris

The Pdf thing keeps saying there's an error on one of the pages for loading?

Then AOL switches itself off? It does this sometimes

Leave it to me guys and I will check to see where the error is. I promise though that I have not prevented anyone from saving and sending the mag. :D It would help me actually. Must be an Adobe thing.

Has anyone else had problems opening the mag?

Cheers

Ahh Poor Jayne

You should've asked for a new computer for Christmas instead of cash huh

Anyway I think that the problem was I was using 3 pictures for my travel hound section from the internet and when I saved the magazine in Adobe PDF it gave me an error message but I just clicked ok. Anyway I have changed the pics location and I didn't get the message again so I think it shopuld work now. Let me know how it goes.

Claire - I will send you the PDF file so hopfully you can send it on.

Cheers

Hi,

I just registered, a couple of point regarding your site (I didnt read the mag yet but saved it ok - I would say its an AOL thing not an adobe thing)
The tab order on the registration boxes is a bit to pot, I regularly use the keyboard and hit tab to go to the next box, that didnt happen.
The page is titled "homepage", something like "FREECYBERMAG, the worlds biggest online magazine" or something would be much better
The 4 small images you have are really large (filesize), and would take some time to open on a 56k connection.

Hope the above is of use

Last time I saw the free copy it took forever to download. In PDF it is possible to have the file size reduced so it can be downloaded quick. My company produces accessible PDF's and the graphic is good and still a small file.

It would be easier to have a mySQL database on your site for people to register/de-register, add/edit email address etc and send it that way.

Handson Group - Let's talk more. How do I reduce the size of the mag? I just save it and then convert it to .pdf
Also the MySQL command, I have seen it on my control panel but have not got clue what it is. Any training tips for me so I can look further into using it.

Cheers

Its ok for your hubby, i did a cracking page on astronomy for this guy. He publishes it getting my name wrong.
I sent him another for this month hoping for a regular slot and he delays till later in the year lol

Only joking Chris, my offer of writing a reg article for ur mag still stands though, let me know. It a grand read. I don't dare print it though as i need all resources for my business.

 Sorry Al

I promise your Astronomy article will be published but I have to create a balance in the mag and the "What an interesting hobby" page would've turned into an Astronomy page :D but I will feature it no doubt about that and thanks for writing it :D
