Good evening forumers.
Ive just started my Wordpress blog and have posted a few articles.
I would just like to know that you think of the writing style, and do you think if continued the content would be benficial for link building etc.
The blog is www.clubcricketer.wordpress.com (http://www.clubcricketer.wordpress.com) . If this is seem as advertising, please just delete as appropriate, however with no financial incentive I dont personally see a problem.
Any tips on how to improve my writing style would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel Atherton.

For the last month or so, I've been following the Copyblogger (http://www.copyblogger.com/) blog - it has really helped me think about my writing style.
For example, try re-writing your 10 tips for batting against spin using heroic language (http://www.copyblogger.com/heroic-language/)

Hi Daniel,
I think you're taking the right approach in terms of writing concise 'top tips' articles. As the blog takes shape you may find you want to introduce some articles that generate discussion, as well as some news-based feature pieces.
I hope that's helpful.
Best wishes,
Emily

I agree with Emily that the tips are good, and that you certainly want to generate discussion. I also like the short posts. Being as busy as I am, that's always a plus. One thing that struck me was that you might want a little more description in the subheader of your blog, but that's just a personal opinion. On the writing itself, it looks good. :)

In terms of link building, would the blog have to recieve a lot of views and comments for it to aid the seo of the sites it points at :|, as i am thinking of guest blogging on tips related to a site to boost the rank.

Guest blogging is a good option for getting good ethical backlinks. Write some unique content then contact the relevant blog owners and they will most likely publish for you.

Just a quick update.
The blog is going really well at the minute. I pulled 50 unique visitors yesterday. I know not a lot on the grand scheme of things, but for a fourth day and with little marketing and a .wordpress.com domain... not bad I dont think.
I would like to reccomend that anyone who is thinking about blogging for their business, do it!! In the past five/six days Ive spoken to people who otherwise I would not have got the chance to. Today I spoke to a sports psycologist who saw my blog and would like to write a testamonial for my website.
I will keep you updated on how my blog does in the coming days/weeks.
Thanks for reading :D

I think one of the reasons your blog is doing well is because it contains good content - well done you!

**Update - 29th Jan**
My blog is having quite a slow day to day. Any idea why this is? Also, and tips on how to promote the blog without being seen to be spamming. Ive been posting topics on a cricket forum linking to my blog for the full story, but I fear that if I keep doing this, they will see it as spamming. Any ideas?
Cheers.
