Can anyone recommend an online timesheet & profitability repoting system they have used & found to be reliable !!

Plenty out there, but would welcome advice. We are service based & need to log equipment, day/night work with varying charge out rates.

Well primavera p3e is what the big boys use or you could look at www.achievo.org although I'm not sure how that handles vehicles/equipment etc.

Thanks for that. We are definitely in the SME category with only 23 Staff.

Hmm dont think you actually read the requirements, how does MI/BI and OLAP help the original poster?

Ideally, we are looking at:

* Online hosting
* Logging time, cost code, mileage, survey equipment used (with associated cost)
* Log against projects linked to clients
* Compute overtime / weekend working payments
* 25 users
* Reporting on time for working hours directive
* Reporting on project profitability

So it is simple, we do not need a goliath aimed at multinationals, but does need to be flexible for us to put to use.

As an example, at present we utilise the opensource CRM system Vtiger, installed by nb2bc at Warwick Uni (I can recommend them - great team). Cheap, useful, customised inhouse - but does not do a decent Timesheet module !!!

Cheers,

Nick

Heard of it but never used it. Do you use Line50, I would check the integration because its supposed to work with any system not just Sage but not sure how good that integration is.

We do use sage line 50 and having taken a guided demo of Coretime, it does look good.

Yes, Sage Coretime timesheet software has a great track record in the UK service sector (for client case studies see onesys.co.uk/case_studies.html
Although the majority of buyers (small and medium-sized architects, consultancies, designers, PR, surveyors, etc) still go for the server-based version of this timesheet, expenses and project accounting system, (because of integration with other software such as Sage 50, MS Project, etc) some are now looking closely at the online timesheets / SaaS / Cloud Computing version because of its low start-up costs.

There seems to be a rush to get this type of time / cost-saving system in place before the economy takes off again. In 2008 prospective clients were too busy to assess the benefits because of their busy workload. Then during the recession some realised that they couldn't make timely decissions because their basic spreadsheet-based systems couldn't provide them with usable data to make informed business decissions on. (staff productivity, real-time budget vs actual, project profitability) Does that sound familiar?

If so, book your guided online 'walk through' and speak to our clients. See our onesys.co.uk website or call 0845 026 2255 (local call)

not worth getting a custom module developed or integrated somehow?

seems a shame to move entire platform for only one feature, especially if the rest of it is working

Timesheet shouldn't be too complicated
