My site is appearing with the rogue url www.www.apartyshop .co.uk
It will show no matter how many www.www.www.www (http://www.www.www.www/). appear before the .apartyshop.co.uk
My questions for those 'in the know' are;
Is this an issue?
If so, what can be done to rectify it, without harming search engine placement etc?
I'm happy for the site to be accessible via www.apartyshop.co.uk and apartyshop.co.uk - unless that's also a problem? :|
Thanks in advance.

You need to have a look at your DNS A records..
make sure your A Records points to the right domain/IP Address.

Your DNS and hosting is set up on a 'wildcard' basis, so
http://<anthingyoulike>.apartyshop.co.uk
leads to your site.
Google appears to only have the www and non-www versions indexed.

@ KM-Tiger
So would you say that this is nothing to worry about and to leave as is?

Certainly doesn't affect functionality, but I'm no SEO, so you might do well to re-post in that forum.
How did you discover it?

On another forum, I noticed a post by someone with this problem who was using the same hosting, so I just checked.
Thanks, will re-post in the SEO Forum.

There used to be a time when Google had great problems with canonicals. It's partly resolved now but I wouldn't take a chance. The way you are setup allows for multiple pages with the same content (to the SE spider). Dupe content, as it's known, is something to be avoided if you can and that's not just from the SEO perspective. I'd get it corrected ASAP.

OpenDNS throws a wobbly when you click on the link with 2 wwws. However it does come up with the single www.

One way to solve it is to run a 301 redirect on the wildcarded virtual host, pumping to the host you want it to be.

Thanks for everyone's help and advice.
Along with help from my host, I have removed the *wildcard entry in my dns
