I am looking at a product range of T-Shirts, aprons, tea towels and coasters using my frog paintings. What do you think? Would you by them?

I say go for it. It's a fun design. At least sound out the opinion of relevant people in the retail chain.

Have you thought about mugs?

I think the Three Wise Fogs on a mug would look great. I am always buying mugs because I keep breaking them.

I'd purchase a T-shirt; not because you painted it, but because it's cute 8) .

Mugs is a good idea. I thought it was a popular design for frog lovers and also that is is hear no, see no, speak no. It's always been a favourite and I did it years ago, but it's time to make some money from other sources to fund my new studio (dream at the moment)

Hi Claire

I really like the mug idea too. I can also see it on some sort of mini poster that could be framed. I have a couple like that ( although not nearly as good as yours'') hanging in my hall that I bought in Paris.

Best of luck

Jacqui

Claire have you ever thought of doing something for the military market, those guys like a good cartoon especially if it relates to thier regiment.
If you need any source material let me know.

How come you all like the idea, but the vote is 6 people saying nothing?

I need to get ideas of whats popular.

They can like it without necessarily wanting to buy it. I'd love a site done by Macmyday and I would vote that he has good sites - but I couldn't buy one though

It's the Liam range of frogs

I think they are quite fun, not my sort of product, it's something my sister would like.

Have you thought of doing pigs, big collectors of pigs out there :D

Hi Claire

I think your idea is good, however, I have a deep hatred for frogs, try another design and run it by us. I would prefer a mug sporting your luscious design.

Claire,

Love the frogs, but some of your abstract work would look great on mugs / mouse mats / coasters etc.

My partner is an artist and we occasionally do some collaborative work when time allows. We are looking to get some of our designs on to mugs this year.

I'd certainly buy one of your abstracts on a mug or mouse mat.

Ok, I've found a supplier who can do one off mugs only problem is he can only put one frog on each mug which isn't what I want for my final product, however if any of you are interested they cost £14.99 inc P&P

PM me if you want one and tell me which frog you want

Why not sell them as a set of 3? "The Three Wise Frogs Collection"

clairemackaness
2nd January 2006, 19:17
Good idea. I'll work out some prices.

I'm sourcing a supplier as we speak for most of what I need. Just ordered some samples, so once they are here I'll pop up some photos.

I have seen those frogs before. While there is copyright on frogs per se I can't help thinking these are copies.

clairemackaness

The painting was done 5 years ago and was inspired by a clip art image. The actuall painting hangs in my nans hallway if you want to see it.

So it predates this one by Royce McClure then?

Thats the one, wow! I found it whilst searching for free frog images in google. It was in 2000 though when I painted the copy.

Cool!

Hi Claire,

I think you could do well with this range, done correctly you may even end up with rubber toys like the cars, crazy frog and dragon in Asda. ;-)

I would suggest looking at mobile wallpapers as well as this can be zero cost yet make a nice trickle feed of revenue from the wallpapers.

Otherwise, get some sarongs done and I will add them to the sarong site I hope to have live in a couple of weeks.

I think I owe Royce Mcclure an apology, I was honestly under the impression that it was a clip art image I had copied. Damn those royalty free pages of photos.

Obviously great minds think alike though!

http://www.frog.co.nz/nef.html

I am going away to hide in an igloo for many years to come and have certainly learnt my lesson. Thankfully thats one of the only things I painted using images (except my pop art ones).

I'm still going to do the mugs though but just of some of my other designs.

Thanks for pointing that out silly, I could have got myself into all sorts of trouble.

I too now have a deep hatred of frogs. One luscious mug coming up at £14.99 if you want one! LOL

Just a thought, how about creating an 'official' UKBF mug. With Ozzy's permission obviously. You could perhaps do a caricature of a typical UKBF forum user (what ever that may be  ). If the design was right and could be used for other forums I would consider purchasing a few for gifts for the people that help me run forums that I own.

Claire how do you fancy making a arty design for a ukbf keyring i could then charge members a rock bottom price for them and everyone can reccomend their business buddys ukbf and hopefully drive even more members here!

clairemackaness
2nd January 2006, 21:41
I could, but your keyrings are tiny! (I have one) what sort of thing could you fit on it?

creative-keyrings
2nd January 2006, 21:42
you probabley have a small one, i do a bigger one which is double the size.

The content for it could be decided by all the members and you could draw it out and i will add it in on the computer to the overall design.

What do you reckon?

clairemackaness
2nd January 2006, 21:44
I'll give it a go. Why not start a seperate thread. I'll do a few designs and we can vote on a winning one.
