Any suggestions for my teeth? Silly post I know byt my bottom two wisdom teeth are coming through and although they dont hurt, they ache.

Puling them out is not an option as they do no harm, just thought the mums on here might know of some old wives tale medications!

You could always try applying bonjela (or a baby teething gel) - that's what I'm going to go and get for the same problem for me tomorrow morning.

OMG - if you have to have your wisdom teeth taken out, make sure you have it under general anaesthetic. Having mine done under local was the single worst experience of my life!

Oooo my mum had that done, cried for hours! Make sure you get put to sleep!

I seem to remember my mum saying that. Where can I get some? A chemist?

Jayne

Our chemist and herbalist sell it.

Dredding having mine done, ones impacted and may be a real ****.

Tea tree oil was the one I think I was given to soften the gum, mate of mind got novacane, but he did own half of Derby.

Get them xrayed asap if you already haven't.

When I get mine done I will let you know how painless it was [gulp]

Claire try whisky.

You can either hold it in your mouth for a minute or two or put it on a bit of cotton wool or similar and place it over the sore area.

It does work but if you dont like the taste of whisky then its not easy !! Being Scottish and surrounded by distilleries here we use it for just about everything !!

You got sore teeth - Put whisky on it !

Cut - Put whisky on it

Got the cold - triple whisky with honey, milk, sugar

One word Whisky.

Dab it on your finger and then on your gum. Tastes a lot better than other stuff as well.

Plus when you pour out a small glass you will need to find a way to get rid of it

I had an impacted one removed under a local - not a pleasant experience but it wasn't planned; the dentist was taking out the tooth next to the wisdom tooth and had to get her boss in to deal with it and the impacted wisdom tooth :( .

There's no need to be so fearful. I had two wisdom teeth taken out when I lived in Florida, and I had one more taken out here in Georgia. Both times, it was local anaesthetic only.

The real issue is the calibre of the dentist. Here in Georgia, I was surprised at how little pain followed the procedure; the local dentist did a superb job. I recommend that you ask around to learn which dentists do the better job.

Go see a Dentist if your worried, the flap of gum is normal, just make sure you brush regularly and keep the area clean.

All of the remedies mentioned so far are all viable, but other than that you have to ride it out. If the pain gets worse, then see a Dentist who will assess the space they are erupting into.

Oooo my mum had that done, cried for hours! Make sure you get put to sleep!

I had all 4 of mine out at once under general anesthetic.

I woke up with a large footprint on my chest.

hahaha

Funny, it must be a time for wisdom teeth playing up as one of mine was misbehaving over xmas.

However, a lovely dentist lady stuck a big needle in my gum to remove the goo and gave me a prescription for drugs I'm only just coming down off.

Actually, having thought I might have to have the pesky devil out, I think I got off pretty lightly.

I sometimes think it would be better to have all your teeth pulled out, then you can just post them to a dentist for repair

I'm mega scared of dentists.
