Hello all,
Due to another topic I made a few days ago, people have been PMing me left, right and center. I will ever so roughly explain my requirements, could you please PM (or post in here) a rough quote, some examples of your work and any suggestions you may have.
I require a website with an intergrated online shop
As an 'optional extra' I may be interested in having a customer login allowing them to view their order's status.
Just after quotes for now, thanks for reading!

Thats rather like saying you want a car with a door and a boot, how much will it cost?
Without getting more specific, everyone is wasting thier time
Feel free to cal us to run through things

Really it is like saying:
Few static pages and a basic method of selling: £500.00
Tesco.com £100,000.00
Specifically:
1. how many products
2. what organisation do they need
3. how do you want customers to search for them
4. How are the products related to eachother (in terms of bundles, upsells)
5. what postage and shipping strategy is there
6. who is the prefered payment provider
7. what industry sector is it (how subtle or complex is the sell, and do we need to abide by certain industry rules)
8. Are the products bespoke, tangiable or digital?
9. how many supporting pages will be needed
10. is there the need for constant editing of the supporting pages, or are they to be static
11. will the clinet be providing the images and copy
12. Will the clinet be populating the store themselves
13. What discount structures will be wanted
14. how many languages
15. Is a google feed required
16. what methods of promoting customer loyalty are needed
17. what accounts systems or ERP sytems need to integrate with the back end
18. Is there a need to manage customer accounts, or have customer based discounts, or trade accounts
19. Is there the need for split VAT rates
20. Do customers with accounts get access to different information on the rest of the site
21. Is there the need to provide different levels of back end access to the person who does the dispatching, the store owner, and the person who deals with accounts
22. Is there the need for regular product imports from a manufacturer's file. If so what format is it, and what cart system are they working with
23, does the system need to extract product data from your own internal database of products used within a retial envoronment?
I could sit here for the next 20 mins with more relevent questions, but I think you get the point

I get this all the time with virus removal quotes. I simply don't know. Its not like changing a head gasket on a car which usualy only have a couple of variables, a website has millions.

I agree with "Place of Design" but would be more than happy to quote you if you could provide a little more detail on the project. Alternative, feel free to get in touch using the details in my signature and I will discuss things further with you there.
Cheers + hope to hear from you soon.

maybe if you only want a basic online shop then you could go down the route of using a pre made template such as tiger commerce or EKM powershop. take a look at their sites as they only charge about £20 a month.

I have an online shop that I recently closed down - it was selling custom built computers. The site has had a lot of development, if it suits your requirements I'd be happy to sell it to you for £500. It even lets people log in to check order status, print invoices, etc... Contact me through Cloud Nine below.
