i know it wont help ranking but would like to catch more visitors.

Doing On-Page Optimization helps! Here are some of the factors that needs to be considered:
title tags
meta tags
alt attributes
description
keywords
sitemap
h1/h2 tags
robots.txt

That's just going to make the meta tag look like a spam-laden mess.
Anyway, just use a simple sales message. Tell the prospect exactly what your site will offer. Start with 'You' and explain the precise benefits/reasons of clicking through to your site.

Treat your meta-description as a PPC ad - make sure it entices, but that the sales message is focused on your main keywords.
The aim then is to encourage a good click through rate (CTR) through the description snippet showing on search results.
Don't expect keywords in meta-description to have a direct impact on ranking, though (except indirectly through CTR).
