ok Folks

i humbly submit our new mobile site to see if any of you vastly more experienced dudes might give us the benefit of giving it a quick once over!

so here is the basic site
at
www.pretty-small-shoes.mobi (http://www.pretty-small-shoes.mobi/)

you can type this url into your mobile phone browser and get to it that way

it is a mobile companion site for our main one at www.pretty-small-shoes.com (http://www.pretty-small-shoes.com/)

you can see it on a normal pc
and on a mobile and it is configured to work on any mobile phone type

(on a pc it will look a little spare and over simple obviously)

the mobile site has some special gizmos working in the background that mean it can detect what kind of phone you have and render the site and photo images in a form optimised for that particular phone

(on i-phones that function is slightly tempremental at the moment)

we will use it to highlite new styles (and offers) as they go live and promote it via text message broadcasts from our own database and via twitter too.

each shoe featured will have a link below it that invites the user to `click to call` so they can go right from looking at shoes on their mobile to calling us to chat about them and then hopefully order them on the phone

we''ll be testing this in the proverbial `next few days`

meantime if anyone has any thoughts or comments or advice or feeback of any kind (seo/usability/etc) we'd be ever so grateful to hear it

cheers folks

Well done.
I have been on about this to some of my clients.
Also currently working on a mobile search engine that only looks for moble sites.
And yes google is doing the same.

Although some may argue its not relevant its still good practice in terms of SEO to have meta tags. Depending on what keyword phrase your aiming to have people use when searching for your site would be the deciding factor on content for SEO. Ensuring you have some good quality backlinks would also be beneficial.

In terms of accessibility and cross browser compatibility you should try to meet W3C standards which currently the site doesnt (16 errors and 88 warnings).

Thats a few pointers to get you started, hope it was helpful.
