Hello
I have just registered with this forum and how found some very interesting discussions.
I am setting up a business and am looking for investment. I am prepared to give part of my business in return, or even just an outright loan. I am currently having a website built but need the investment for stock.
Please can anyone help me? Either if you are an investor, or know where i can get investment.
Thankyou

I am looking to set up a website with the main theme being an auction site. There will also be a competition area where i will hold 1 competition per month. Also there will be space for other businesses to advertise on.
Please abit of input would be much appreciated.

Do you have a business plan?
And how much investment are you after?
What returns for the investor?

This really is what i want help with.
I know it sounds silly but i do not hae a business plan, i do not know how to produce one. I know it all exactly in my head though.
With good advertising the auction and competition areas would do extremely well! Ebay has millions of listings per month. The competition would work great also.
Im looking for £20,000 investment and the returns to the investor are very negotiable. Either a % in the business or a set returned fee.
More than anything im looking for help and advice from the investor to get my business idea off the ground.
Any opinions?

Hi Andrew
I think most people on here are going to ask to see a business plan from you first :( There's plenty of help available though to come up with one. Try your local Business Link, they supply loads of free info. Or there are plenty of online business plans available (just Google it) and hundreds of books on the subject.
You'll get far more interest in your idea once you've got something down in writing.
Best of luck!

Hi Andrew,
I'm not a candidate for investing, but a further point to hayles post is that most investors and/or banks will want to see some sort of financial comittment from the business owner. An investor does not want to be the only one risking all.
That said, have you done any research as to the prospect of sales from your site? You obviously realise you'd be entering a highly competitive arena, and the site won't 'work' for a few months until it is 'found' by search engines. There is a thread on here by a new MLM'er 'Burny' who has started a similar operation: http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=7144&highlight=mlinternational
Have a read, it may help.
Cheers, Nigel

Not sure what specific advice you're after Andrew? It would be best to read up on what you need to start your business (ie a business plan) and then ask some specific questions maybe?
ps. Don't worry about Fast Fences and MacmyDay, you'll get used to them and they don't bite :D
pps. Did you guys notice that I've offered Andrew some advice before Aunty Jayne did! Is that a record?
