View Full Version : Sole Trader - Allowable tax expenses for marketing

Hi All,

I am a consultant operating as a 'Sole Trader'. I charge clients on a 'per day' basis at a standard rate.

As part of this activity, I also attend exhibitions and similar events to network and seek clients. I understand that I can claim the incurred costs as 'marketing' on my tax returns.

Question is - Can I also claim my time spent on this against tax?

If so, at what level? My normal daily charge?

Thanks for any response

I think I understand what you mean but no, you can't. You can claim any expenses involved in attending the exhibitions but that's it.
