Hi, I'd really appreaciate some advice if anyone can help?

I am in the process of setting up a consumer ecommerce site that sells individual items, produced in China and sent directly to the consumer from the factory in China via Fedex.

The market is global and the products won't pass through the UK - they'll go direct to the consumer.

Everything is outsourced so I basically handle sales, marketing etc.

Could anyone please advise on
1) Best type of company structure for this business (sole trader, limited, offshore? etc)

2) what are the implications on taxes, import duty etc when selling individual items globally?

Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

The point of sale is where the money ends up, its the country that is on the invoice, so if i had a website hosted in the states, the product was made in China, and they were sold to Africa. The Tax would be relevant to the UK as the money is destined for us here.

The best people to speak to, is the inland revenue hotline, they are excellent on this and will give you definite answers on what to do.
