List of private schools

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get a list of private schools in UK along with contact details. I have seen a couple of websites that have this information in web format but I need this in excel format so that I can send out the mailers to them.

I can get this information for US schools but not for UK.

A long shot but help appreciated.

I looked for similar a number of years ago and had no luck. Best bet may be to use the info on here http://www.privateschools.co.uk/directory.htm and hire a cheap admin person to input it in to a worksheet for you.

There's the annual The Independent Schools Guide, published by Kogan Page. It's bound to be in your local library, or another similar guide will be.

You could always try the English Independent Schools site:
http://www.independentschools.com/england/

Alternatively try your internet searches again, this time using the word 'independent' instead of 'private'.

You can get private school list from google.co.uk. Search in Google you will surely find list of school's name.

This is a link to a company called Craines, they list information for 30 private schools in Manchester in PDF and excel.

They may do this for the whole of the Country...of course there is a charge.

All, or nearly all, Independent Schools will belong to one of the following associations who may well be able to supply you with want you want. (Sorry, I've left you to google the terms to find the relevant websites!):

HMC

GSA

SHMIS

IAPS

In addition, the Independent Schools Council, ISC, exists to promote independent schools.

The hold comprehensive, researched data specifically on schools and educational establishments throughout the UK. They would be able to provide counts and costs so you can make an informed decision.

All the data is DMA best practise compliant and supressed against the relevant suppression lists. If you want me to put you in touch with them, please drop me a line or make and enquiry. Can have some samples sent over to test of course.

Data can be provided with number of pupils, gender mix, whether it has sixth form, nursery facilities ( if indepedent primary ), pupil age range, boarding capabilities, special classes flag, number of qualified teachers and more..... Its comprehensive and specialist. Circa 1750 Independent schools on the list which has been televerified.
