Hello, Does anyone know the Yahoo Local Business Listings address. I keep getting this address: http://listings.local.yahoo.com/ and it has no option for UK?

Thanks.

Thanks. I will try that as long as they don't try and charge me for it.

They will charge, infoserve are paid listings in Yahoo local.

What is it you are trying to do??

I have a Google Local Business/Maps listing - and I want to be able to do the same in Yahoo. I know Yahoo have it but can't seem to submit a company with UK address. I can't believe Yahoo is so frustrating. No wonder Google is so popular.

Yes I tried very hard to do the same and kept coming up with the paid listing from infoserve. I gave up in the end, came to the conclusion that only paid for listing are available. If ever you do solve this, let us know.

I tried it a while ago.

A few days later Yahoo sales team telephoned me to get my details. From memory it was about £200 for the Google local/map equivalent ...........I didn't bother.

Don't blame you. We seem to get higher listing on Yahoo than Google - so I thought Yahoo Local Business listing would help it more. But I wouldn't pay, especially since Google have something like 90% of the market and give it away FREE.

I have just been having a look around and I can't find where I originally made the first contact with them.

I'll keep digging for a while.

Yahoo also picks up listings from local directories, e.g. yelp. Don't have the list to hand, but just get listed in similar directories and you'll eventually find an entry in yahoo.

Is it really worth the $300 a year, that is a lot of other paid directories you can get on for that cash?

Anyone list on Ezilon?

Thanks

Jason

I'd imagine (like all General dirs) its used by kids, and that's the traffic you'll get from it. But I heard the link value is ok.

Ultimately you wont know until you use it - and that's guaranteed :D

Its a $69 Review Fee and Yearly Review (Annual payment)

Yes - I guess taking the plunge is the only way to know for sure.

I saw that the government lists heavily on ezilon so they can't be cowboys.

I am not worried about the traffic from the directory, just the link juice. :)

We got listed on Yahoo local a while back, but not sure how much traffic it sends - then again, we haven't seen Yahoo local in our logs so..........

Are you actually able to pay for a listing if you are in the UK - the site is pretty confusing!

We got picked up/listed for free, so I'm unsure if a paid option exists - I dunno.

I don't think you'll get much from it, as everyone uses Yahoo's main search. You're better off searching for related website paid links, than mess about trying to get free links.

Websites know the value of what they have, and so aren't going to give it away for nothing.
