Does anyone like trifle, or am I wasting my time?

I have never made one and am attempting one tonight but is it worth the effort?

Yes, Nic, definately worth the effort.
Can you get ingredients?
Jam sponge in the bottom of a bowl, pour in a can of peaches or fruit salad, then pour on nearly set rasberry, Port wine or cherry jelly and let set.
Once set, slice up 2 bananas and distribute around the top then cover with custard till the bowl's full. Add cream if desired (it's probably in your bedroom  )

Cheers, Nigel

I love trifle,

Sponge and fruit in the bottom (sherry optional), pour over jelly and let set. Next lovely thick custard, set again, loads of whipped fresh cream and I still like 100's and 1000's the best for the top

Some put sherry in the custard too :D

My favourite trifle is Somerfields own. It's 99p and I can sit and eat a whole bowl. It beats home made anyday!!

(A bit like Macs Onken fetish)!!

Jayne just noticed you gave me tips re: trifle and I have done exactly as you said, however the recipe said a quarter of a cup of sherry and I though oh sod that and put quarter of a bottle in. Kids will sleep tonight!
