Hi all you PR peeps. I was thinking of auctioning off one of my paintings for HEAL Cancer Charity and wanted to think of an innovative way to do this that didn't involve eBay and could bring me some publicity.

Any ideas/offers?

Did you want to stay locally? Or more of a nation-wide thing? eBay's a good way of reaching more people. Perhaps a page on your site mentioning your recent experiences with cancer and how it effects so many people. Then perhaps contact your local rag and ask that they publish something.

Some ideas.

Oooo and I'd be more than willing to put something on my site if you like? Not that it'l get any publicity off there, but it's the thought that counts :)

Forget e-bay I have a disliking to the place, simply because of the scam artists that frequent that place.. that's my own opinion mind ;)

Claire, don't just auction off your painting, auction of items that companies donate. Hire an auction room out, and get someone famous to do the auction..

Focus on raising the money for the charity..

Hell, I'd even try and get a villa for someone to rent free for one week. My gran died of cancer in September, so I'm up for it - if you want any help let me know.

Liam, you offer was great! If you have a link to your site in the signature people will visit your site, I've had tons of visitors from this forum since I joined..

You could raise attention to the event by people visiting your website

BTW if your not sure how to do it let me know!

Yes more than likely.

Yha, designed myself, every last bit! Can't seem to get pictures on it though... Hate technology! :?! Ooo while I'm moaning, does anyone know how to resize graphics? Can resize them to cm but not to pixels...

:? 'elp!

Liam

I use Adobe photoshop and you choose the option 'resize' and then choose pixels, cm or whatever size.

If you want email me them and I'll resize them for you

Claire, I've got a 150x150 but it's just part of MS Word at the mo. What shall I save it as? :?!

Liam

save it as a word doc, I can copy it, paste it into publisher and save it as a gif.

e-mail the word doc to me
