Hi All,
Although I've been on the forum for a while, I thought I'd take the opportunity to re-introduce myself and tell you about my current projects.
First and foremost, I'm a writer and have been working in this precarious career for over 20 years. I offer freelance writing services, mentor other writers / creatives and work on a range of creative projects ... screenwriting, film, collaborative art and publishing.
I am a consultant to Skylandian Pictures. Our debut feature film `Displaced' has just gained a worldwide distribution deal which we hope will place the company on the cinematic map.
Lots of exciting things happening in 2006. Although mad busy for the next couple of months, I hope to get on to the forum as much as possible to offer support, perhaps create opportunities and make some contacts re: film and writing.
Best wishes to you all for the festivities and the New Year.

Well done and welcome to the forum!
I'm a sci-fi fan myself, Displaced sounds like
an interesting movie. I've had an idea. I run
my own online travel websites and regularly run
free to enter competitions. I'm always looking
out for prizes. Do you think you could sponsor a
couple of tickets to the premiere of Displaced?
If not the premiere, how about some ordinairy
tickets or a signed dvd?
You can see my current competition at:-

Hi All,
Many thanks for your welcoming messages. Hope you've all enjoyed the festivities and managed to get some time-out.
Lawrence ... good to hear you're a fellow sci-fi fan. I'm sure we can arrange a prize for your website competition. Can you remind (pm) me in February so we can time with the film's release?
Tom ... so what kind of films do you enjoy?
Best wishes,
Carol

Drama, mainly. Or, as I've been told, anything that's deeply upsetting. I'll just name a few to give you an idea.
Crash, Elephant, The Woodsman, The Insider, 25th Hour, Gattaca, Schindler's List, Hotel Rwanda, Vanilla Sky, Million Dollar Baby.

Glad to hear there are so many Sci-Fi fans like me here !!
Its hard to name my favourite as the list is endless !! The 5th Element has to be one though. I am also a HUGE Star Wars fan and have loads of collectors stuff including some of the original film props.
As I am French I went to work in the marketing and PR team for the Cannes Film Festival for 4 years running during the 90s. That place is great for any film fan and I would really recommend going there for a couple of days when it is on.
Now that has led onto a few clients for my company CreaCom Design. Just goes to show that there is a lead and potential client in everything.
Anyone else notice how bad the films are on tv this Christmas ???

I was most upset that Mary Poppins wasn't on, on Christmas day this year

Tom ... wow, that's a profound collection of deeply moving films! I like films that touch the emotions but also crave pure escapism too.
Christele ... I love Fifth Element! It's one of my favourites although I enjoy a diverse range of films ...sci-fi / fantasy / horror / action / contemporary drama/ comedy /romance /period /international ... and, Claire, musicals too!

I was incredibly surprised with The Descent this year. Such a fantastic horror film with a low budget.
Wolf Creek was another low budget horror film, but I can't really give an opinion on the actual quality of the film, only that it was truly horrific. Such a nasty, nasty film. I've already preordered it, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it. One of those strange films you're drawn to but for no real reason. I watched it at the cinema with a friend and he summed it up well when we left by saying "I feel dead". That's a cheerful thought for you!
