Hi Junior, welcome to the forums. Interesting idea but I have one for you.
Instead of me paying three pounds to you - you pay me to correct the copy on your website.

Coding Monkey

....and Matrixx to host your website on a proper domain name.

Junior, Mac's right - if you want to earn money through your website it has to be right. It's important that you present a professional image if you want to be taken seriously and that includes the quality of the whole site. On this forum you'll find that the critics tell it like it is.

Coding Monkey
23rd December 2005, 18:44
I was telling you that you spelt something wrong. You disagreed, I showed you.

Is that evil? You came here asking for feedback. I told you that there was a spelling mistake on your website.

junior

I could have a look over your site if you'd like? Re-write it to make it sound more professional? For a fee of course :D! I did exactly the same to Darren's site and he was very impressed

PM me if you'd like to discuss it further!

And make sure you don't take their criticisms to heart like I did  Don't threaten to storm off the site and then blame it on hormones!

Liam

Jayne

Hi,

I've had a look...It's a very plain site and the bit about not trusting you at the top, makes me not trust at all.

You know what they say, never trust someone who says trust me...I think you should re-think the text. It really sounds like a scam..sorry, but that my honest none techy opinion. I'm sure it's not a scam, but it reads that way.

Get a proper domain instead of a Freewebs extension! And try looking into other methods of payment other than PayPal. Not everyone can use PayPal!

i dont have alot of money, but if you know a professional website builder that's free, please tell me

Coding Monkey
23rd December 2005, 19:16
Yep, the counter, "website built and hosted for free...." and general lack of proper domain name don't help with your credibility. Everyone has a budget, so look toward what you would consider the most important issue: design or content.

There's loads on here who would help you, tell us a bit more about yourself in the introduction and people can get to know you better. Once they see you are ok, they will help :D

There's lots of nice people on here and then there's Liam

Just kidding Liam

No, don't take that offensively! It was just a question. There's something to the way you write that doesn't quite click! A certain 'je ne sais quoi!'

Liam

See if this is of any use (http://www.acidsoft.hit.bg/downloads.htm)

True - you get what you pay for!

Junior, take a look at the PM I've just sent your way. There's nothing wrong with the website layout, as such, I suppose it could look a lot more professional! Have a chat with me and I'll see what I can do for you.

Hi Junior, and welcome.
I think you'll find that what you're doing is actually illegal. It's known as soliciting money, which is tantamount to begging. You are asking for money, but not providing anything in return. Certainly you may respond that you're giving them 3 pounds, but that's not exactly correct, is it?

Best you do some research,
Cheers, Nigel

Urban Space

Knew something wasn't quite right! And what makes it worse, if someone did want to participate they can't! When you click on the paypal link on your site, you get

'Sorry, this FreeWebs account is still provisional and forms are not permitted. Freewebs accounts are provisional for the first 7 days'

Now what does that tell us? You've not even been in business for a week, you're breaking the law and you're using FreeWebs as a platform to launch your own success, which, is against FreeWebs Terms and Conditions.

Busted!

Liam

You got it all wrong mate, I'm not giving them £3, they'tr giving me £3, and I pay them to refer people to pay me.
And each time they refer someone to pay me they get £2.

As a Business Mentor for the Prince Trust I have a lot of respect for those young ones who wish to set themselves up in business. I also give credit where due. Also, my job as a lawyer is to be blunt with the truth when advising a client. You are not my client but I will give you free advice.

First, I would like to say the website design is good. If you designed this then I do encourage you to consider training up to a career in web design.

Now the hard stuff. The legal issues. As I was reading the first few posts no-one has mentioned what I wanted to mention until I came across to Fastfences post.

Yes, your site is indeed illegal. What you are 'offering' can be construed as gambling and quite possibly a lottery. Unless you have a licence to do this I strongly advise you to close down your website before the authorities find it and issue you a severe fine, if not a summons to the Magistrates.

Sorry to give you the hard stuff but I am sure you will appreciate to hear it from me rather than the authorities. I also hope you find my comment about your web design encouraging and I wish you well in your venture and good luck with whatever you do.

I will seek damages for injury to my feelings, including but not limited to medical treatment, damage to reputation, and the like!

All other names except Jon, Jonathan are liable to damages!

Family tend to call me Jon, whereas others call me Jonathan. I cringe when someone spells my name as John... so...erm...common :P - yes Im a snobby git!

Jayne

Ok then Jon no way i'll call you that again
