Who judges whether they like a song by lyric? Who chooses just the tune? (Rock lovers tend to go for this) Who evaluates both?

I think it depends on the sex of the person, generally speaking women go for lyrics and men the melody.

Most of the music I listen to doesn't have lyrics, and if it does then it's incomprehendable, like Sigur Ros.

Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Arcade Fire, Aereogramme, Album Leaf, Chicane, Moby, Craig Armstrong, Brian Eno, Broken Social Scene, KC Accidental, Iron & Wine, Kings Of Convenience, Mojave 3, Mono, Müm, Piano Magic, Rob Dougan, Reindeer Section, Polyphonic Spree. Just to name a few from my iPod playlist ;)

Also, loooooads of film soundtracks. Love Crash, 25th Hour, basically anything by Lisa Gerrard and Hans Zimmer.

I like that polyphonic spree - great website / video game thing they have got.

I liked lyrics when I was a emotionally bankrupt teen but these days I just like a nice tune or anthem to sing along to. I like they Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand.

West life - Worst Life.

never heard of any of those that macymyday posted, I like songs for both reasons, I like a few of nirvanas and theres no way ANYONE can like those lyrics since they mean bugger all ! I like a wide range of music ranging from abba to the sex pistols and many inbetween, basically I like what I like, be it for the lyrics or the tune. And nothing wrong with creep either !

Aah, Sex Pistols. 'My Way'; the best adaptation of a crooner's song, ever!
Think I'll play it now.

Why?

Because I have a wide and diversified appreciation of the arts? You're judging me by my previous avatar because of my sophisticated, aristocratic and handsome appearance? Nic, you of all people in the work that you do should know that you can't judge a book by it's cover.

Wait 'til you see what I'm converting my basement into
