Please accept with no obligation, implicit or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practised within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice, with total respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, and their choice not to practise religious or secular traditions at all... and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2006, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make Britain great (not to imply the Britain is necessarily greater than any other country nor is it the only "BRITAIN" in the northern hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith, sexual orientation and choice of computer platform of the wishee.
By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wishee actually to implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.
This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

One local paper has renamed Santa Claus so as not to offend anyone. So, no more Santa Claus or Father Christmas. From now on, it's 'Holiday Guy'!
(I wonder how long it will be before someone realises the origin of the word holi-day?)

It would be funny if it wasn't such a sad indictment of the society we live in today. :(

Hear, Hear!
Political Correctness drives me potty. Here in the UK we're not even permitted to have a Christian radio station but other faiths are permitted their own radio stations.

Don't even get me started on this PC nonsense. The funny thing is religeons it is supposed to serve think its all a load of rubbish as well and only adds to animosity and tension amongst people.
The interesting thing is the PC brigade seem undeterred at offending Christians as a whole. As a Christian myself, yes i am highly offended.
Its rather like anothe PC idea saying that "Santa" is frigtening and intimidating to young children?
Oh please!?!?!
I have a far better idea, y don;t we just do away with xmas totally? In case it offends people. OH no can;t do that, that would cost us millions.
Merry Christmas

The PC brigade whoever these faceless people are, seem to think it's ok for them to 'speak up' for ethnic communities when in fact all they are doing is being patronising.
I know quite a few Muslims and have asked them about all this PC crap. The general opinion amongst them is that the PCs are doing more harm than good. Ethnic religions are NOT offended by our traditions any more than we have a problem with Ramadan or Diwali.
The only group offended by these people are Christians.

Bumping a four year old thread? Might be a new record that.
