I am just finishing up my MBA here in the USA and was perusing the idea of working in the UK. I'm interested in becoming a Mortgage broker/Financial adviser. I already know of the coursework involved in becoming certified within the UK but am unsure about the legalities involved in licensing. If I where to obtain a 2 year work visa, what all is required for me to obtain a license to practice as a mortgage broker or financial adviser. Here in the US, a mortgage broker is required to jump through hoops before he/she can practice.. Fingerprinting background checks, submitting a $10-$100,000 surety bond, A detailed review of your personal finances, and after all that... They can still deny a license for "no said reason". Also, a person needs to go through the licensing process in each state they intend to do business in :-/.
Is there a place that lists all the prerequisites and requirements to obtain the license/Certificate.
