Hi,

I run an online mail order business, when filling in my tax return should the very large cost of postage be under the: Costs of goods bought for re-sale or goods used section? The only other place I can see for it is: Telephone, fax, stationery and other office costs, which doesn’t seem to fit either:|

Also which section would paypal fees belong to?

Thanks

Katie

The cost of postage/carriage for distributing your goods should go under cost of goods sold.

Postage for sundries, eg posting supplier cheques, mailshots to customers, should go under Office costs.

Paypal fees go in Interest and bank and credit card etc. financial charges
