View Full Version : I'm Happy Thread

This can be a thread where you can tell others of something that made you happy today. Business related or not.

I'll start: when we design something, we normally go through several alterations before producing the final version for the client. It often involves me talking to the designer to make the alterations before the client even ever sees it so we can make it as close to perfect as possible. However, this morning my designer sent across a new design and it was so good that I had nothing to comment on, apart from just how great it is. And all the client could say was how fantastic it was.

So that made my day.

My main concern was not getting AntiB's Christmas without wine and baileys would have been a disaster.

Still not out of the woods though, it is an abces and will need bi-weekly aspirating and then probable removal in the New Year.

I know th thread has moved on a little. But it does seem to me how we winge about the smallest of things. There is me worrying about finances. Other ppl worrying about eveything from the man and his dog. Then we have ppl like claire who have had REAL problems and suffered in slience.

Same as watching a documentary on the Tsunami, sad how while ppl here were unwrapping pressies, and sipping sherry millions across the world were losing everything. Lives, loved ones, their homes.

I think sometimes we just do not know that we are alive. And forget how we should be greatful for the smallest things in life. Like good health, family, love and of course life itself. I think anything on top of that is a bonus.

Thought for the day

Here is a poem that I am featuring in my January issue of FCM and thought it was appropraite for here also. Apologise for those of you that read my mag as you will now see it twice :D

A Little Older

Another year has passed
and we're all a little older.
Last summer felt hotter
and winter seems much colder

I rack my brain for happy thoughts,
to put down on my pad,
But lots of things that come to mind
just make me kind of sad.

There was a time not long ago
when life was quite a blast.
Now I fully understand
about "Living in the Past".

We used to go to friends homes,
football games and lunches.
Now we go to therapy, to hospitals,
and after-funeral brunches.

We used to have hangovers,
from parties that were happy.
Now we suffer body aches
and sleep the night away.

We used to go out dining,
and couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
come home and take a pill.

We used to often travel
to places near and far.
Now we get backaches
from riding in the car.

We used to go out shopping
for new clothing at the Mall
But, now we never bother...
all the sizes are too small..

That, my friend is how life is,
and now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
before you're too darn old!!

Al,

You cannot tell people about the bad stuff, or they stop being fun with you and then you get all that sorry stuff. I come on here to be happy, so keep the crap stuff to myself..

Bet their's loads on here with problems...So I say, cheer everyone up, especially Claire and forget your own problems for a while :D

This thread is for the happy stuff, but business isn't always happy, so posting problems that people can help with can be rewarding for others to help. I love helping people, and only way I can do that is if a problem is known

Jayne
22nd December 2005, 15:53
Some problems cannot be helped at all, by anyone :D

When I was a child and right up until about 9 years ago I didnt see that posting they do on television every year for a helpline to help people through the Xmas period. This just illustrates just how pressurised and commerical it has become. Also, why is peace and goodwill only offered between 14th December right up to New Years Eve? This is kind of saying, be nice to everyone in this period, 2nd of January, forget all that for another 11 months! We should spread peace and goodwill any time of year. Not just for a certain 'season'.

ok janye, enough of the sadities, and grumps. :)
I guess half the problem is i am in a de tox at the moment, coupled with the flu.
one thing i am extremely happy about is after, i will be a non smoker. Wife also suggested it as a means of preparing for xmas. A means of clearing the system out before the onslaught of setts, alcohol. andi tell u if iut were not for the flu, i would feel a lot better for it!

I am as happy as a sand boy really.

I combed all four kids and only found 5 headlice.

I found a baby sitter and can go to my best friend's drinks party tomorrow night when all hope had gone because there was no baby sitter to be had in all of Silverstone.

I can have a bottle of wine because I don't have to work tomorrow, I have given myself the day off, but must spend it with a houseful of kids as they all have friends over.

i can honestly say i have never seen any of the programs you refer to!!

drinking lots of vodka used to make me happy!

now helping people makes me happy. sounds cheesy i know but when you are unable to help yourself helping others is a good substitute :D

getting divorced made me happy (being married made me drink the vodka!)

my kids make me happy - argumentative, irritating, a pain but wouldnt change them!!

and finally.....when it comes to TV getting all four "24" box sets made me happy!

:D :D :D :D

I'm happy because although I am at work (in my proper job) I've got all the pressing tasks done, written my to do list for the 3rd of Jan and closed my filing tray. Now, I am sitting on my PC, playing the best of christmas with Furry headboppers on, waiting for my staff to come back from Sainsburys with Bucks Fizz and nibbles for lunch, before buggering off home.

This Onken Mango, Papaya & Passion fruit yoghurt is just pure bliss. I wouldn't be able to live without Onken. I always get a funny look when I go shopping on my own and put 7 of them in my trolley.

I am extremely happy,

Earlier in the year i tried quitting smoking. Went a few weeks then faultered onto cigars. Although i did not smoke during the day i did in the evening

Now after a nasty bout of the flu, and a hell of a chesty cough, i have left the cigars alone. So far not one in three days. i think i can now go all the way. Thus far i feel fine. I mean only smkoing in the eveing , it shouldbe easy to quit right.

This is my plunge now, i emerge to 2006 a non smoker!!!

Now thats something to sing about!!!!

i will be even happier as of 10.30pm xmas eve, i can have a bloody drink!!!!
