if you can use different cards and different machines

also, get someone a friend or family member to go through the checkout process... it may be simple to you, but not to others

Does your platform have a sandbox feature to allow you to run fake transactions to test for errors? Which platform are you using?

its a custom job, doesnt have sandbox bit,

but getting other people to try and put some through might be an idea

I hope you don't mind, but thats the oddest and hardest checkout I have used for a while.

the form to enter the deliver address IMO doesn't verify very well, the verification moves to another page which makes me have to click and edit button which IMO isn't that easy to find, then when you go back not all the information is retained, which makes it hard to get right, then for some odd reason you ahve to click another button which isn't clear to get to the continue button, and then it takes me to an off site sage pay page, which I have never thought were clear.

hope that helps, sorry if it doesn't.

Should also point out, sagepage does have a testing setup, and it also has testing card numbers, although I cannot remember what they are but it's all in the sage pay documents.

Also IMO if it was customer built, unless you have requested it they shouldn't have used the offsite sagepay pages, when it's very easy to intergrate it directly into your pages, and it's much simpler for the customer.

Already mentioned but sandbox is a good idea. I'd recommend having a mirror of your site on a password protected staging site for performing all upgrades and testing.

If users are reporting errors get real time analytics on the pages.

Get a live help feature and make it prominent so you can troubleshoot with customers at the time.

I add something to the cart using IE 6 and there isn't even a checkout button. (The button is there when I use FireFox.) And in FireFox 3, for the Join our mailing list option, I can't select No, every time I click, Yes is automatically reselected.

Don't like to say this, but wouldn't you be better off with some open source cart software such as ZenCart or Magento?

I agree with the comments re: checkout - also if the user cancels the transaction in the sagepay pages, there is a message which is totally confusing to the user and is actually an internal message - but if I was looking to buy, then had a rethink just before comitting to buy, I wouldn't go back to your site because it is too confusing - just the impression I got.
