Hi

I've a business bank account with one of the main uk banks and have had 5 different business managers in the last 10 months.
None of them has the foggiest about my business for obvious reasons and I don't feel there's any personal bank relationship.

In short... I want to change as I think they're hopeless.

Am I in cloud cuckoo land or does anyone have any personal suggestions for banks that actually want to get to know their customers?

Any suggestions (other than rude ones) are welcomed.

Thanks

Ray

Was with Natwest when started and they fouled up more than once. Moved to HSBC and I have a personal relationship with someone at my local branch. When we were with Natwest they wouldnt even give us £10 credit, whereas HSBC have supplied us with much larger amounts.

HSBC Internet banking is also far advanced than Natwest.

Many thanks for your views, I heard HSBC mentioned quite a few times on other forums so they seem to be on my short list. Good link Nigel, thanks for that.

Merry Christmas

We've been with HSBC for ten years now. They're pretty good when we want something and pretty much leave us alone when we don't. Their charges also are fair.

One thing I like is that we have a credit card machine with HSBC and the value gets to our account the next day rather than some days, weeks or even months later as with some other merchant services

Free internet banking and BACS payments.

I'd say they are very good compared with the other banks I've looked

Cheers Stuart, another endorsement for HSBC.

I also bank with HSBC and have no cause for complaint.

But I think the most important thing with banks is to remind them at every opportunity that you are a customer paying for a service from which they will make a profit. Otherwise they will quickly revert to the "doing you a favour" type of stance.

Hi Kent

You made a very positive point there, it's all to easy to forget that the banks make their money out of our hard work but all too often they try to make us think it's them doing us a favour for us being in business.

Thanks for that observation.
