Speaking, audio, talking over a website

Does anyone have any experience of websites that when you open them, some audio starts. I don't mean songs, I mean a professional voice talking about the company and its services.

Initial thoughts would be "that sounds annoying and is a bad idea". However I have seen/heard it in action before and it seems to compliment browsing the website very well. If done right of course.

Technical side
It is tricky technically. I guess you have to make sure it plays cleaning on all browsers and connection speeds and there is clear way to stop it on the website.

Very annoying....

think about people browsing in public places, or on the sofa watching tv, or sneaking a view at work....

also think about bandwidth for people on low bandwidth connections such as 1gb mobile broadband.

by all means have audio but there must be a button to press to activate it
