The Pound yesterday the pound did regain some momentum after the 10 billion dollar bailout In Dubai and investors starting to look for risky assets. However UK House Prices grew less than expected in November as 35% of estate agents polled by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors reported higher property values. Forecasts predicted a 39% result. The report did strike an optimistic tone, with a spokesman for RICS saying that “Despite modest increases in the number of properties coming on to the market, it is clear that this is not significant enough to keep pace with the levels of demand,” and adding that a new wave of buying interest may emerge in the year ahead. This contradicts yesterday’s Rightmove House Price report, which claimed that repossessions will boost supply and undermine prices in 2010.

The Dollar Investors left the safe haven of the dollar Monday as Dubai's 10 billion bailout eased worries over global credit problems, while the euro rose despite anxiety about government debt and credit in euro-zone nations Greece and Spain.

The Euro industrial production for October slumped at an annual pace of 11.1% from a revised -12.8% the previous month. Also, production slipped away 0.6% from a revised 0.2% the month prior, with expectations of -0.7%. The full report showed that only intermediate goods production climbed in October. However, durable consumer goods declined for a second month in a row, on the back of government incentives for the car industry being phased out. Again this is another big day for the Euro and data out today could have a big impact.
