What will you be offering to your customers in the New Year, sales wise?

Any ideas to make the vat increase seem less daunting to customers?

We're considering going along the lines of a 'we pay the VAT' during January.

that would be a nice gestus for the first month :-)

we will keep offering more cool products and good customer service, the VAT will be increased any way :-)

I agree!

The trouble in in our market we always hold back when the manufacturers increase their prices and keeping our prices the same after the VAT rise would be another bite into our margin.

I believe our customer service and offering to be far greater than our competitors anyway so 2.5% will not make a difference to our customers as we are already the best VFM out there. :)

That's the big danger especially for smaller up and coming businesses. The larger ones can force their suppliers to swallow the increase at least for a month or two so they can appear generous to their customers
