Hi,

I have a clothing website which is run on the Magento shopping cart.

When I input a product into the site for the sizes I use the custom options.

However as I currently have no stock control in place it means customers may order 2 of a size when I only have one in stock. Also if a customer orders the last of a particular size then I have to login and manually delete that size.

I want to find a simple stock control module that when I input the sizes for a product I can also input the quatity of that size. This means when there is an order it is autoamtically deducted from the quatity total and means customers can't order a greater quantity than we have in stock.

Any ideas guys? I've done some Googling but can't find anything suitable.

Thanks,

D

Use a configurable product instead?
That way each size can have its own simple product and own stock control

yep, thats the way to do it. The simple products with options are only really recommended for virtual products or where you don't (and never will) need to control stock.

I always recommend people use configurable products for exactly this reason. There is no need to add or modify Magento in any way, this is core functionality.
