Guess who's finally pulled their finger out and done something useful! I'm working on a website about...well...that's the problem! Kind of stuck for a subject...

Have a look at it so far:

http://urbanspace.atspace.com

It's only the logo - which I created myself :D! Must say I'm rather proud of my two hour's work!

Anyway, if anyone can give me some idea as to what to put on it I'd be very greatful!

Thanks

Your logo looks like a big smile :D

Not bad kiddo for your first go!

Maybe you should do your site about something you are interested in?

I got some message telling me I had to install vector grapic something.... to view the site.

I clicked on cancel and got a strange site which said "Click anywhere to enter!" but did nothing when I clicked in a number of places!

Steve

PS I'm using IE.

DarrenC
25th December 2005, 21:55
Didnt do that to me Steve (I'm using IE too) maybe you have spyware on your PC?

directmarketingadvice
26th December 2005, 08:27
Spyware?

Perhaps.

Or maybe it's linked to this:

"By default in IE5.5 and IE6, Vector Graphic Rendering is not enabled. Go to Microsoft’s download page for IE and follow the instructions to run the setup program for IE. During setup, choose the option to customise your setup and enable Vector Graphic Rendering (VML)."

Its looking really good liam, but you need to make sure your menu links work on all pages. My little page works well too.

Top notch

Urban Space

but you need to make sure your menu links work on all pages.

That's because I hadn't made half the pages! I'm polishing it now, going to load it up a bit later!

Thanks

You could.....make it work on the other 15% of used browsers.

If you'd be so kind as to explain?

Liam

Coding Monkey
26th December 2005, 16:13
Well, it doesn't work in Firefox, Opera, Safari, OmniWeb, which account for between 15% and 32% of the browsers (depending what source you look at) and your website doesn't work on them.

PM me your username/password for the account and I'll fix it for you

He is referring to us MAC users who use Firefox, MACIE and Opera - all of these appear to fail. Thats a loss of 15% revenue!

I believe our http://www.handsonaccess.com site works with Firefox etc. Let me know if not

I think I'd prefer to stick with the 80% that can view my site than to give out my username and pass!

Don't take it the wrong way, you can't trust anyone these days!

I've been thinking of adding a downloads page to my site with wallpapers and stuff, just for a laugh - No one's going to download them!

But can anyone tell me the screen resolutions that you usually get wallpapers in? 1054xSomething?

If anyone could help, that'd be great!

Liam

Urban Space

Bloody computers. 200kb file size limit on each page. The wallpapers were just a little larger than that. And the silly server won't do compressed files either. gifs loose all the quality too! Grrr!

Ahwel!
