Hi guys,
Apologies if i appear to be spamming or what ever they call it. But i have made a few changes again to my site www.easyasit.co.uk. Namely the lettering and the laptop logo in the corner.
The neon on the laptop i prob going to keep, but the neon around trhe lettering i am open to opinions? this is easily changed.
What do we think?
Thanks
Al

Hi
I have looked over your site. In my honest opinion, your site looks unprofessional. The text on your christmas message is almost unreadable to me, and when I follow some links on your site, I can see a different address in my browser eg, http://www.augh31.dsl.pipex.com/Magazine.htm
To me that looks pretty bad, as it doesn't cost alot of money to host your site on some dedicated hosting rather than your free space supplied with your broadband account.
I am not a professional web designer, (although I have worked on a few sites before), so I am obviously no expert.
Hope you don't take this criticism the wrong way, I just wanted to give you my honest opinion.

I agree with Darren I'm afriad. The site looks cobbled together. You say that you sell training DVDs, but there are no screenshots of said DVD or even pictures of the covers.
The use of Times New Roman text is horrid IMHO.
And I get the same thing with the url as Darren gets.

Hi there
Thank you for your constructive critiscm. I agree about the bottom graphic being blurry. this needs to be sorted.
I have recently had a professional web developer overhaul the site :-(. I agree it may need a little re jigging. on the whole i have recieved much acclaim for the site :-)
as for lack of screen shots, well this is y i included the free demos. One can over do it, don;t you think?
Many thanks

I don't see any correlation between time spent and a well designed website ..... not unless you know what you are doing.
I would get a good web-designer (who knows at least a bit about good SEO principles) .... not those who call themselves professional web-designers and then produce works like 10 year old colour-blind psychopaths!
... and this is unbiased comments - I am not selling web-design. In fact, I don't sell any services at this forum ..... but that might change in the future!

I'm sure everytime someone wants a website review I'm going to be disliked more and more, but I have to agree with creospace and bci. I certainly would not give the term "professional web designer" to the person who created that website.
Your main right and bottom images will take much more than 10 seconds to load on dial-up and make me have to wait. In fact, with all the images, your page is over 200kb in size. On 1mb, that's 2 seconds to load. On 56k that's over 40 seconds. They've been done in png, which makes me think the person has just saved them in Fireworks instead of properly converting them into web images.
I don't think the colours go well, especially the blue with the blue font on top, and the white background makes it look quite empty.

give the guy a break. instead of just saying this is no good and this is rubbish. also say well this is no good but do this and it will be better. add this change this after we are suppose to be a community that helps people.
have a good crimbo

Well, I gave advice on the image size. That means he now knows to change them, and mentioned the colour scheme not matching, so that's advice to change it.
I'm criticising his work, not the person. If you want to call yourself a professional, it's to be expected. I receive a lot of it and learn from it.

ok, who do you mean needs to be professional. i know its not a personal dig. i just thing it is very professional and you should know in your line of work to say alternatives to a problem then it can be sorted.
We have established that the graphics need sorting. Great maybe easyasit might change them.
Now we have the colour issue, what colours do you suggest?
i am interested i know you are all great guys but i have spoken to easyasit a time or to and i know he is a great guy to. i just think that sometimes its great to give advice where would we be without it. but when you have been working on something and to have people say this is no good, they need a little bit of help so that's why im so interested.

I am not a web designer, nor do I know very much about websites to be honest, but being a lady I like something that is nice isually and I don't like this site. It's too bright and the images have a scrapbook appearance about them, like someone has just stuck them there with little thought.
I don't mean to be harsh but when you ask for opinions, unfortuntately, you are not always told what you want to hear. Mac has in my opinion, given a very professional response to the thread. I can understand the point you are making ink, but for Mac to go into detail of what he would do would take up Macs professional time.
Change the colours from royal blue and yellow to something calmer. That's my grievance with the site, its too psychadelic.
Take it easy!
