Virtual Shopping Mall

Hey Guys & Gals

I need your help please :D

I have created a new link on my web site but it's not live yet. It's basically a Virtual Shopping Mall. Could you please take a look at the link and give me your feedback. I need to know what you think of:
1) The idea
2) The layout
3) Is there to much or to little characters
4) The colour scheme
5) Anything else you can think of.

As I've mentioned it is not live yet so some links don't work. I am hoping to get it ready for January 1st. There are going to be 5 floors altogether so don't worry guys there is a floor for you all to. The link is www.freecybermag.com/shopping.html

Great site, but when I went on D/Perkins, it's wouldn't click back with the green arrow on top of tool bar, got stuck!

But it looks really good, classy and easy to use, I'll have a more in-depth look later..you cannot rush shopping :lol:

This looks like another shopping directory of which there are literally thousands.

You will need to work like a mad man to get it listed anywhere near the top of google.

Silly Jokes - What I have set up is more of an affiliate program rather than a directory. I can only have 10 website's per category rather than multiple listings. What did you think of the layout though. Does it look ok or a bit in your face? Cheers for the comments though :D

Hi Chris,

I reckon it's got potential. In my view I think the clip art bits 'cheapen' the theme. I understand that you're trying to create a 'shopping atmosphere' but I feel it's a bit cluttered.
On a totally different matter, a few years ago there was a 'frog in a blender' screensaver.

Just wondering if anyone could create a 'Worm in a blender.' :wink:

I thought that about the characters too. Looks a bit naff but I don't know what else to put in there.

I can't believe you are trying to kill Worm already. He is with Claire in a few days time. Must make not not to send him to visit you. :lol:

I know it is an affiliate program based directory. I've seen hundreds of them. They join my affiliate program all the time and only about 6 have ever sent a sale.

Also Google really dislikes these recently because they clutter up the web and do not add to the user experience.

I can see you are trying to find some way to monetise your site so I can't knock you for trying but you would better off writing articles and working the adverts in at the side of these.

To be honest good luck with it but I strongly disagree with Jayne when she says it looks classy and I would be surprised if it makes you very much money - but then I don't know how much traffic your site gets.

Replace the clip art with almost anything else - it can't look any worse ;)
