Web Design Company Searching for the Worst Website

Intechnic Corporation, a Chicago-based web development company is searching for the worst business web site to award a $10,000 makeover.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 19, 2005 -- Have you ever had a frustrating online experience where you couldn’t find what you were looking for, couldn’t place an order, or even find the order button? Intechnic Corporation is searching for the worst business website to award a free “Xtreme Website Makeover,” a complete professional website redesign valued over $10,000.

The contest is available online at www.xtreme-website-makeover.com until January 15, 2006. Anyone can nominate their website by submitting a short story explaining why they think their website is the worst. Internet visitors will then cast their votes. The worst website will receive a complimentary makeover from Intechnic.

How many people will be viewing that site over the next month?

I think I will enter, not because I think my site(s) are the worst, but think of the traffic!

Thought I would share that with you!

Clever marketing, bet they get loads to their site. Just wonder how they will prove who the is winner, could be a site they have already done for all we know and all it is, is a trick for traffic!

It's okay having the traffic, but what's traffic is they aren't going to buy or use a product or service promoted on the website?

I'm very protective of my websites - I know they can be improved but I love them

Darren is spot-on.

Traffic that doesn't convert is pointless.

They are shoppers and not buyers.

It also makes it impossible to test the effectiveness
of your site.

Traffic that doesn't convert is pointless.

I don't agree.

It seems you are saying that "you can only visit my site if you are going to buy something."

Of course, I want to sell things and make money, who doesn't? But I don't object one bit to free exposure, even if I dont benefit.

I really like the idea.

I am sure it will be re invented a hundred times if it works.

You're missing the point.

Look at the last sentence of my post.
