As the title says, I've made an Officebird facebook group. Now what do I do??
I've invited all of my 'friends' to join, but only one has lol. I will need to hassle them some more:)
How do i get people to join and how do I convert people who join my group into clients?????

Why have you created a facebook group? What do you have to offer the group? What's in it for me?
Unless you have a reason to do the facebook thing then don't bother. You will run out of ideas and enthusasm, it will wither and die and all your friends will leave. Just like blogging and twitter, only do it is you have the drive and enthusiam to keep it going week after week.

To be honest I am not convinced that FB is the right platform for your business, it is much better for products or high demand services than specialist services.
Through a FB group / fan page (which is probably more suitable than a group) you are only really going to be able to reach friends of friends of friends. I use my FB page to try to get friends to spread the word for me and keep my venture fresh in their mind with occassional bulletins and reminders of introductory bonuses. My friends will not become my clients but lots are at the stage of their lives where they will know people who may be interested.
For facebook to work it relies on your group reaching a tipping point where enough people join up which makes it appear on their profile page and then their friends see it and say 'oooh, that looks interesting' and click on the link and decide to join up as well, which puts it on their profile page and then their friends say 'oooh, that looks interesting'.......etc etc
Having looked at your group the biggest problem is that it is a closed group so it is difficult for people to join and only members can see any useful information so how would someone know whether or not they want to join.
The seocnd biggest problem is that there is nothing there that will make people interested if they are not specifically looking for what you are offering. If you want to get a mass of people and hope that some of them might lead to others who may give you business then you could try setting up a group called 'aaargh I'm too busy, I wish I had my own PA'.
Instead I would suggest you need to look at getting properly involved in sites like this and interacting with small business owners who may need your services or know someone who needs your services.
Hope this helps.
David
ps. I joined your group - if you fancy returning the favour then you can find my Facebook fan page by typing Be Known in to the search box. ;)

Hi Sara,
I posted this in SVA in response to your thread but figured it may be helpful here too!:D
Hello,
Facebook is a useful tool - but as always it's how you use it.
There are various ways:
You can integrate your Twitter with facebook so your tweets appear on the page - cutting down on constantly updating it too.
You can set up a feed from your blog so it is automatically posted into the notes section of your page - again helping with updates.
You can use the widgets available via facebook to put a link/fan box on your website and entice web site visitors to become a fan.
Also a useful way of keeping current clients up to date - so ask them to join too. When you post a special offer or useful article on your page they are then in turn more likely to share it with their friends on their profiles and so on and so forth.
Lots of different ways of using it (don't look at my page it's useless I work on other peoples!!) That is also a handy point - you can appoint anyone as an admin along side you so they can update it too.
Regards
Emma
