With reference to recent statistics and all that jazz, is Monday a good day for cold calling? All I am asking for is the opportunity to bob in and see my targeted market while introduce our respective businesses over coffee. Discuss how we can help each other networking wise etc.

Do I do it today? Or can anyone think of a better day in the week to make the calls! I have decided to use this approach rather than looking for the 'debt' besides ringing about debt at this time of year is equivalent to inviting Scrooge to a kids party!

I always found that Tuesday was the best day of the week to start calling but Friday mornings usually produced the best results.

Monday and Friday are always odd days so I would suggest a No Go.
Wednesday people are to cemented in what they are trying to do, Thursdays are ok

But as above I wouls suggest a Tuesday.
Mondays are full of meetings and people have not quite got into the idea of eing back at work

Echo Michael and others. I would steer clear of Mondays too, as most people are setting up for the week, or finishing off from the previous week.

I'm answering this based on the perception that you're querying cold calling as a marketing exercise, rather than a 'collection' exercise!

When making cold calls -- whatever the day you decide to do it -- make sure that you are prepared to make the cold call. Most people don’t see the importance of making cold calls in maintaining the viability of a business. But they are not dispelling any negative stereotypes if your employee does make a phone call but is ill-prepared for the conversation. Make sure that any personnel that is fully equipped with all the relevant information on your company and its products or services. A confident-sounding person over the phone is more likely to get the leads that will matter for their business.

As I understand it, time is important too. Early morning and late afternoon are apparently good.

Urgh, i hate cold calls and i really hate making them.
I've now put a gate keeper between myself and any sales calls so i no longer have to endure these people. I reckon i've saved hundreds of pounds each month from using a gatekeeper - just in the time ive saved getting rid of these people.
My personal opinion is don't bother unless you have a very thick skin or you know that the person you are calling is interested in your service.
Its just a personal opinion and i know that cold calling does work - i just hate it!

what you probably need is a pay per appointment company that has quality indepth, that has a history of excellent results for their clients.

A bit like the company i have just set up called Ebony-Angel Marketing.

I'm at michael@ebony-angel.co.uk
if you want to know how much it costs.
