Morning all,

My website has been live since 29th July and started off quite well climbing the rankings quickly.

For the last few weeks, we have been slipping back even though I have an ongoing SEO contract with a decent web developer.

On looking at the latest Google Analytics, the figures were not very encouraging.
BUT, when we looked at the analytics from the server, the figures were much higher.

Is anyone else getting weird stats from Google. I am fairly sure my web guy is doing what he can.

Would appreciate comments on Google and the stats and if anyone else has similar experiences.

Thanks

google anaytics only count real visitors. Most of the server traffic loggers will log all type of traffic like traffic from bots .

Also what all type of things are you doing for seo . One more thing , i have seen many new sites gets a boost in ranking in the early times.Make sure your bounce rate is not so high . Try to get some inner linking too .

best of luck

Google Analytics depends on the client having JavaScript enabled. Many Internet-enabled devices won't have this (basic mobile browsers etc.). Also some users will opt to disable it.

Consequently the server logs will show more visitors even with the bots etc. taken out.

Thanks for the info.

One of the issues are that when I do a sales call (either in person or over the phone) I am quoting the traffic from the server stats. I am finding that potential customers then do their own searches using Google and find my stats must different. This has caused concern and a couple of customers have commented that I am making figures up....
I dont want to get a poor reputation and when emailing Google, obviously dont get a response.

When we first started, the Google stats were fairly similar to the server stats.

No one can findout the actual traffic . They only can say an around traffic by looking in to alexa rank, compete rank etc ..

But both of them can not give the actual amount of traffic.

exaple : if alexa id 10000000 ( no traffic at all) and if if around 1 -2 lak you are getting around hundreds of traffic per day .
