Mini Sites Idea - Webguys Help Needed ££

I would like your advice and maybe help on an idea I have that will benefit me and my business and could earn you some money!

I own a few domain names that are keywords to my personalised rose product and there are lots still available to register.

Now instead of just pointing the domain names to my site www.rosesbydesign.com. I was thinking we could create a few small independant sites that are all set for different SEO keywords of slightly different search terms.

So when people search for a related search term on a search engine they may find these small independant sites and not our main site www.rosesbydesign.com.

The potential customers would be sold the idea of our personalised roses and when they click a link on the mini site they taken the to www.rosesbydesign.com and tracked using our affiliate program so if a sale is made YOU will earn commission.

Now this can also be done by anyone who is can build a websie and if you are good and website promotion you will do even better!

The idea is if www.rosesbydesign.com is not near the top of a search term listing for relivent keywords (EG flowers, flower delivery, personalised roses etc) These other site could be targeted towards a set keyword and will get the traffic.

They would all be different style sites with different images and text but will once a link is clicked take the customer to www.rosesbydesign.com and any sales made can be given to affililates

Would this idea work?

Micro Sites are not that uncommon. The film and music industry are big users of it and it works well for them.

Each individual site for a film is a micro-site of the film makers.

Yes, i do mean by micro sites not under the www.rosesbydesign.com site

As a single stand alone site that would promote the personalised roses using its own domain / brand.

Then once the potential customers are hooked they are sent to www.rosesbydesign.com via affiliate link.

They would need totally different content and be on different servers (with different hosting providers) to be totally effective - this would ensure that the site's were in different IP ranges.

I'm not sure if this would work out totally as you expect it to - but in theory it would be fine.. :wink:

Yes it would work.

Duplicate content is an issue on Google, so as Tony mentioned I would look at hosting these sites with different hosting companies, and ensure that the content and design is different for each domain.

If we create a whole new site/domain then I think it will take upto 6 months for google with its mega traffic to start listing it well.

But a new site will more or less be listed instantly with yahoo and msn.

An idea would be to create a specific keyword optimised page added to anyones current website for the relivent search terms, this would be the quicker way to get listed on powerful google.

I can help you with images and setting up the affiliate links, but its a good idea to have unique site text.
