Hello All
My name is Paul and this is my forum question.
Do you think that the stratum of authority within the organisational structure of the work place, affect employees rights to obtaining information about the business that the employee works for?
Please make a responce to this topic. It will really help in my studies.
Many Thanks
Paul

Prynhawn da Paul,
I think because a majority of businesses here are sme's you might find your research is somewhat slanted. Also affect is non-deterministic on the positive or negative aspect, so any answer of yes (as would be expected in a larger company), could go either way.

Not us, only 15 of us here - which is tiny across all industries, but medium sized in web.

Hello Paul and welcome.
It would be (as previously stated) totally dependant upon the type, and structure, of the company in question.
If one was to survey a 'typical' Woolworths store, my question would be, 'who would want to know about the financial and other mechanics of the company? Certainly not the 'typical' junior or part-time cashier.
But to survey, say, the head office of Sir Richard Branson or a major Stock Brockerage, the response would be totally different.
Your questioning whether the employees' rights are affected seems somewhat of a furphy; the rights are there - it's whether the employee wishes to exercise them or not.
Perhaps offer us a condensed example, and the few of us who do understand you  can elaborate.
Cheers, Nigel

Think I get it now...right I'm the boss lady and have 7 staff at the moment, they get everything they are entitled to and all the employee information etc is stuck on my wall. They all know their right, most better than me
Did I get it right?

Don't understand the question.
Surely an organisational structure has strata, in simpler language more than one layer. So what exactly is "the stratum of authority"?
