Hi my name's Neil Garner. I have had a great career as a mechanic to date starting of in a small local garage and fast progressing into motorsport and eventually the highlight of my career working along side World Champion Fernando Alonso looking after his Race car with the Renault F1 team.
I have now left Renault and just opened my new 3500sq ft prestigious workshop nr Cirencester. I can cater for race cars and road cars at the highest level providing race car preparation, servicing, maintenance and top end upgrades for all vehicles.
The workshop officially opened on Monday the 5th and now I have the job of marketing my new business however my budget is now limited.
I have had some good local press already.
Any good ideas for effective marketing?
My full company detail can be seen on www.neilgarner.co.uk

Hi Neil,
Welcome - bags of ideas for marketing around the place :)
Theres a marketing forum - have a poke around see what you can find.
If you can't find what you're looking for or you want some fresh ideas just post a thread asking - theres always someone happy to help.

Checked out your site Neil - great to see you have a logo squared-away. So many businesses don't and it makes them look like a cheap startup.
Yours looks like a well established business from the outset.
Good luck! :)

What an exciting project.
How about targeting local people and garages with performance cars, Porsche, TVR, Lotus etc.
Helping enthusiasts with technical questions and ideas will gain you immense respect and custom, you obviously like forums have you made announcements at these sites?

Pistonheads has always been my choice, the humor is brilliant, you may even persuade them to run an article.
Perhaps I could do some telemarketing for you in return for race tuning and balancing my TVR!!

I have allready put an add on pistonheads.
You have to be carefull in the forums, if they think you are soliciting business they can scrap your post!
What did you have in mind markinsurry
And mattk feel free to come and have a look at the workshop if your passing.

Hi Neil,
I'm new here to this forum like yourself but It seems we both work in the Motorsport scene. I don't directly work on cars but my company concentrates on the media surrounding cars.
Maybe we might be able to help you out?
I shall send you a email to the address on your website later tonight.
All the best!

Yeah, lol I noticed that after the 1st posting and then realised that the edit button doesn't actually edit but adds another posting which is different from the orginal.
I'll crawl back under that stone.

I thought NictheChick had returned!
Easily done Treble - and don't worry, Nigel's made far greater mistakes... ;)

Welcome and good luck with the venture.
what sort of services would you offer rebuilds? boost applications? Mapping? Just Renaults or other manufcturers too?
