noodles

Hello - My name is John and own a profitable vending concept
The company has been established for about 2 years. The concept works by selling instant Korean noodles in vending machines with inbuilt water and separate water vending machines. These are then placed in universities, colleges, factories, train stations, police stations etc, anywhere where people are waiting and want a tasty warm snack. The noodles are imported from South Korea and the machines from the UK.
These currently prove very popular in the locations we have. The company is a franchise and has 7 franchisees buying stock and machines.
Just wondered if anyone would have any ideas/tips for attracting new franchisees other than the usual advertising in the franchisee industry?
I've had a good read through the forum and everyone seems really keen to help each other.

There are so many students in the universities from Asia. They love noodles and miss them. I think that's a terrific idea.

Hi John and welcome to the site. Im interested to know how these work being a noddle lover. Are the noodles dry and then soften and "cook" with the hot water much the same as your pot noodles do?

Welcome to the forum!
Love the concept, I think it would work well in office buildings as well as university campuses. Good luck with it!!!

What a great idea, I have always understood that vending is a very profitable business.
Could you attract franchisees that are running other machines / products or other business that would be using that same locality, like franchise cleaning companies i.e. ServiceMaster.
We could always telemarket for you if you can identify a market to approach.

Hello
Thanks for your responses, its great to hear your kind comments.
I am currently navigating my way around the forum hope to contribute strongly.
The noodles are instant noodles, so you just add hot water (ramen). They come in six flavours - Chicken, Beef, Veg, Shrimp, Pork and Spicy Kimchi. They do prove really popular with students and with offices and the franchise package we offer includes everything you need to get started. Machines, Stock, Stationiary, Training, Machine Placement, tech support and we even help installing the first couple of machines on site.
In terms of our advertising we are focusing a lot of getting some out there. We were warned to be careful about franchise advertising and not to sign up to every one otherwise before you knew it your had hundreds of pounds sailing out your account on direct debit each month. So we are choosing selected and prominant places. Franchise shows are expensive ventures too so we limit those.
Its great to read about everybody and what they do.

I'd take Lucy's advice and try to get some coverage in the media (franchise trade, food, retail, business, consumer, etc). If you can create a buzz around the machines then you will find it easier to sell the franchises and the noodles.
Or, could you put a machine somehwere in the terratories that you want to sell into, and have some sort of "want to own this machine?" sign on the machine, or on the cups?
Oh and I love noodles - let me know when you sell the Liverpool franchise and I'll go and put some money in your franchisee's pocket.

I love noodles too, but not pot noodles. How do you get away from this concept?

This is a really old thread - it was bumped by a one post wonder. So you might not get a reply!
