I'm newly self employed as a consultant and work from home, although only on a part time basis. I'm also a distant learning student.

Does the £3/week flat rate allowance for home use have to be time apportioned or can I claim the full amount, though I'm only working part time?

I'm a sole trader. So does the £3/week not apply at all?

You can claim more - read the link to find out how. It explains it all.

Ah - because I only work a few days a month, it actually works out less - hence the interest in the flat rate.
