As UKBF is a popular forum and has a number of threads related to google.
What are the chances that google employees monitor posts here?
Has UKBF got it's only google guy?
If so, don't be shy ;)
(that doesn't mean everyone say "I'm Spartacus")

"I'm Spartacus NOT Sporticus" ;) and I'm not just everyone ;)
Can you imagine the amount of pms he/they would get? No wonder they are keeping quiet ;)

1st 3 prizes for the most inevitable posts :)
Seriously though,
do you think there is anyone from google who regularly reads UKBF?
It would be good if google had official representatives in forums, even if
they had PM switched of, didn't answer specific questions, but just gave
brief overviews every now and then.

They would never reveal their secret identity but it would make sense for them to hire some people to read popular forums from time to time.
Just to put your mind to rest - it's not me. But then I would say that ;):D

If you consider the amount of websites across the world. WHY?
Google like other giant corporations do have individual smaller companies that do that for them (IMO), but not google themselves.
I would expect them to to research results and understand why certain posts show up.
I like google.
But more and more I wonder what it actually does now.

It acquires and swallows smaller businesses whole ;) Don't quite think it spits the bones out yet ;)

Apart from me, no one else at Google reads this forum (IMO).
Why would they? about 1/10 of the posts are about Google and search engines, the rest of the posts are rants, tips, bragging, and moans about certain companies cold calling. But none the less a fun and interesting forum to be involved in. :D
if they were to go in forums and take notes, then they would go in the real hardcore SEO forums, that just talk about SEO, how to manipulate Google, and other interesting things that Google can put a stop to.
Anyway, I beeter go, Matt C is coming into my office to discuss the next big thing were doing.......
Were planning to take over the world.... Hold on, we already have, were now going to take over the universe.....

He must be in London then, as they don't drink tea in the US, do they?

What are the chances that google employees monitor posts here?
Pretty low, I'd say.
I can imagine they have people who keep track of certain forums and membership sites, but I doubt there's anything here for them. The SEO threads tend to be pretty basic.

I know for fact that the Google spam team rigourously monitor DP for link sales networks :) I can see no reason why they would not monitor here.

It's almost certain that Google visit UKBF at least periodically - how regularly is a matter of conjecture.
Google are very big into monitoring their brand online - it's been reported on a few years ago that Larry Page and Sergy Brin themselves monitor online discussions to see what sort of perception Google has in the wider community.
Then, of course, you have the anti-spam team chasing up links sales directly - not simply link sales on forums, but they also sign up to SEO company services just to try and get an idea of what they're doing.
So, sure - it would be extremely surprising that Google staff had never read UKBF - the question, really, is who and how often. :)
