Hi,
Does anybody have any experience in the art business?
I currently been approached by a very famous university art professor to act on his behalf to sell his arts (paint, clay, pots, etc.)
Anybody has any idea how this industry work? cheers

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the tips. I have been to ur website and its look really good.
As I have read from ur site that you only recruit Latvian based artist products. JUst wonder do you take any others now?
If not, do you have any other recommendation place or website that I should approach?
In the meantime, I will take try to get some picture that I can list on the forum to let every body have a peep.!

Basically you can take your art to a gallery and they will sell if for you, if they think it's their type of thing and up to the quality they require. Take photos first, or email images, and ask for an appontment to show the original works. Typically, they will take 40% of the final price. You will have to share that 60% between you and the prof, less income tax, of course. You may be asked to pay towards a gallery opening, or towards marketting the exhibition, but not always. Galleries will expect exclusivity within a certain area. You will need to travel to a lot of galleries and a lot of gallery openings to help to sell the works.
