Appreciate the offer but we're fully serviced! No doubt we'll move again in the future and I'll keep you in mind!

How do you guys market yourselves just out of interest? You don't have a logo on your site, do you have a logo to put on your leaflets/brochures/vans etc? If you do you should get it on your site too!

LOL, it just never ceases to amaze me ....... i`m thinking grammer, spelling and text size, can`t be that hard to get it right - can it?

Enter the competition if you like and we can put it on the..front..burner..? If you get lucky you'll have it in time for Christmas!

how much does it normally cost to re-write a website?

Depends on what you wanted really and whether it was just a simple coding overhaul or a complete redesign. If it's a case of simply getting the code accessible and seo friendly then around 20 pages or so would only be a few hundred pounds, where as a complete overhaul would start from about £750 but could be anywhere up to £10k depending on what you wanted to achieve and where you wanted to take your business.

We're doing a redesign at the moment and charging just shy of £2k for it, but we're literally starting from scratch and it's a large content rich website with around 100 pages.

Hope that gives you some idea?! Get in touch if you want to go into specifics.

Ah ok, rewriting a website in terms of the text that's on it, web companies tend to think of 'rewriting' as doing all the coding and design work too.

We can optimise the content of each page for search engines, check grammar and spelling and ensure that it's all spaced out correctly. We'd normally charge about £35 a page for that.

We wouldn't normally write the copy from scratch, only work with what you already have, you know your industry better than we do...

actually wasn`t my site i was asking about ............ you missed a trick there, never mind.

If you're referring to our site then no doubt there will be the odd mistake here and there, we've only put the new site live today and unfortunately we haven't had time to proof read our site after the content gets past the microsoft word stage.

It's very rare to find a website without a single typo or misuse of grammar due to the nature of how they are built and edited. A professional web designer uses nothing more than a glorified version of notepad to construct websites which don't normally come with spell checkers... which is why you'll still see mistakes even on sites like Orange and McDonalds.

good grief ............... I WAS on about the cleaning guys site, but then your the web designer for goodness sakes - there is no excuse, and to admit it "on air" as such.

And before you say it - no we never make mistakes at work.

lol...i'm with you...didn't look at his copy, i'm a web designer but not his web designer and i didn't build that website so not my place to comment on his copy unless he asks me to!

your claim that your business has never ever made any mistake whatsoever in any shape or form is interesting. clearly you know how to reduce human error by 100% yet you haven't been commissioned to do the same for brain surgeons, pilots, the army or poor old Gordan Brown. think you're missing out on a big opportunity there.

Share the knowledge, let us all be 100% error free in everything we do and the world be a better place!

Would put insurance companies out of business though!

Indeed. You have managed to get all the things you mention apart from text size wrong in that simple line. Luckily for you text size is an objective issue so there is no right or wrong.;)

However thank you for pointing out that spelling is an issue on our website i shall ensure that the "N" is inserted into the word environment :)

Thanks for entering, response to this has been fantastic so far! Thanks to all that have entered!

Don't forget everyone wins something so there's no excuse not to enter, obviously we can't give £1000 to everybody (wouldn't that be nice...) but if you don't win the very least you will get is a discount!

Talking of discounts, we're launching a new all in one product. It's a bit hush hush just now but if you're thinking of spending your prize money on a website then this product will be for you.

The first person to sign up will get 25% off and if you win the prize draw then you'll get the prize value credited to your account so, again, no excuse.

We'll be launching it a little later but I'll post it in the Wales forum first so keep your eyes peeled...
