I used to belong to the bNI via my old company. They are ok but not for everyone. I found it hard work having to be there every tuesday morning at 7am, and every time you have to make 2 recommendations to other companie which can be hard.
You can normally go along and visit for a couple of sessions to see if its for you, which I would do.Most let you go for at least 3 sessions which will let you see what you think.

One of my businesses does very well from BNI - I have to say I don't go - too busy being dad at 7am!

Went to my first one this week actually.

I thought it was great, and am going to try and get my company to fund my membership.

I've been a member of BNI for over 3 years, we joined a second BNI group last January and will be joining a 3rd in the new year.

In all of the groups that my business has a representative in, not one has any rule saying that you have to bring a specific amount of referals each week or month. But to be honest its true what they say 'Givers Gain', so the more you bring the more you should get back.

Don't go to a meeting and expect to get a pile of business there and then. It is likely that most if not all of the members will not know you or have experience of your product or service. Trust and reputation needs to be built with members so that they have confidence in referring you to others.

I would strongly recommend everyone vist a BNI meeting local to them, subject to the business sector they are in not already being represented by someone else.

I've been in BNI since August. For the first couple of months I didnt get much from it but gave a lot of referrals myself. Know everyone there knows me for the past few weeks I have received mountains of referrals from the guys, its all about them getting to know you and your business first.
I think it works better for some industries compared to others (web designers, printers, IT suppliers do well at BNI), but even my industry does pretty well. My joining fee's have been repaid already.

Best option is to give it a try. A couple of weeks I have not had any referrals and no-one worries, it cannot be expected every week!

Im already a member I just wanted to know your thoughts on it. I'm the only woman in the group but all the guys are great and really friendly. They all take care of me in their Alpha male way!
